In their works, these artists all create an exaggerated, colour-saturated aesthetic which, with its excessive density of symbols, responds to the consumerist state of Western society. Within their visual spaces, the four artists engage with a culture of excess, articulating their critique through a form of appropriation whilst simultaneously unleashing a veritable deluge of images. In the tradition of experimental film and ‘Scatter Art’, they explore potential unconventional narrative patterns and the dismantling of stereotypes.
